Alejandro González
1970

Alejandro González is an artist born in Don Benito (Badajoz – Spain), 1973 and based in Madrid – Spain

This atypical artist enjoys breaking the ascetic purity of the Spanish contemporary Realism by introducing disturbing, unreal and artificial elements to his painting. With largely autodidact education and heterogeneous background (computer graphics artist, engineer, industrial designer, architect), he provides an important role to the technical execution and lessons learnt from great masters, but still playing with experimentation and giving his work a character of non-finito. Besides, he does not renounce to provide narrative and symbolic meaning to his representations, based many times on domestic scenes and portraits of family and friends. He dreams with the New Babylone in painting: a place where unexpected situations can emerge under the power of colour and forms, not necessarily following the figurative orthodoxia.
