Anna Tubau was born in Puigreig (Barcelona, Spain) in 1948 and currently lives in Berga (Barcelona).
Painting has been one of Anna Tubau’s passions since her youth. Her beginnings as an artist date back to the 80’s with the help of renowned local painters such as Joan Ferrer and Josep M. de Martín. The chosen themes are, above all, the urban landscape, the still life, but especially the human figure and in particular that of women.
Anna Tubau says: “For me, the composition of a work is essential. With the intention of transmitting the interest for what is hidden behind the simple and defined stroke, of punctual colors in punctual places”.
Toni Puig (cultural manager specializing in Catalan painting) explains:
“In Anna Tubau’s painting you discover a happy balance, austere and at the same time kindly sensitive, which reveals to you the gentle effort for the creative, tempered, daily work, which seeks formal, chromatic balances, of thoughtful and measured movements, almost unstable. There is an abundance of women who welcome you, complement you, fill you; still lifes that transform your gaze on objects. In all her painting floats the stroke, the breath of art that does not make noise”.
Anna Tubau’s artworks can be found, above all, in private collections in Spain.
